Goodbye 2020

It doesn't seem right to speak about what I'm hearing from heaven for 2021 without mentioning 2020 first! This time last year was the first time that I'd shared what I'd heard in my yearly "What are you wanting to do this year? " chats with God. I'd heard that it was a year to deal with old hurts. Past pain that was stopping us move forward. During 2020 many of us have had our eyes significantly opened to the real heartbreak and pain people are facing on a daily basis, just because of skin colour. I'm hoping this will be the start of a real move forward. People having opportunities to share their stories and being really heard is so important and brings healing. The specific words I'd heard for 2020 were Pain, rest, completion. Facing pain is messy and emotional and it has made this year a really "noisy" year. It's the hard part of sharing and listening to each others stories. It can stir up resentment and pain in us that we then h...

2020

Every new year I like to spend time "listening" to what heaven is whispering about the year to come. It helps me prepare my spirit, and aligns my prayers to what God is wanting to do. This year I want to share what I've heard. God knows each one of us and speaks to us all individually, so this might not be what he's telling you, but if you read this and your spirit is stirred, it's probably for you. The three words that I'm hearing are pain, rest and completion. Pain - it doesn't evoke anything very encouraging, but hear me out. As a society we do everything we can to escape pain. Physically, that's obviously wise. But when we hide or run away from emotional and spiritual pain we can be left living shadow lives. We wrap ourselves in temporary comfort. It looks different for us all, and while it's easy to see people who hide from their pain in drug and alcohol addiction, the most prolific and acceptable comfort drugs of the day are busyness, stuff a...

Who needs a box anyway?

As a girl, I loved helping my dad outside on the farm. I loved driving the tractors, feeding the animals and cleaning out the cows. But I also loved to cook with my mum. I liked very pretty pink clothes, and my wellies! I was a bit of a "tomboy", but I hated climbing trees, and anything dangerous. I have always been outspoken (... bossy some might say!!) and have always confronted issues head-on. These are a few of the characteristics that made me me. Most of them are still true now, and to add to my list, I am a very private person, yet here I am sharing personal things in a blog! I hate religion, but love Jesus. I don't fit in a box, and I doubt you do either. I recently listened to Emma Watson deliver a speech to the UN, concerning feminism. It was fantastic, and I would recommend a listen. " I considered myself a feminist in my teens and twenties.I always felt like I needed to "fight for my rights". My right to speak, my right to be heard, my right to...

Love, Hope and dreams.

We could have been celebrating the birthday of a 13 year old this month, (and a 12 year old) but it wasn't to be. Life kicks out some stinkers at times! Being a farm girl though, and seeing the lambing season come and go each year, does make a difference to how you view miscarriages. Keep calm and Carry on! It's just part of life.  Well, that's what I told myself twice, but by the third miscarriage, that was wearing a bit thin!  The problem is that although I can explain to my intellect how "It wasn't my fault. It's for the best, there was obviously something medically wrong. It's all part of nature" my spirit isn't so easily convinced. "Why? What did I do wrong? Could I have looked after myself better? Is it karma for pulling the wing off a butterfly?" (I haven't done that but you get the picture!) The guilt is there, niggling away, and things like ...."I'm sorry to hear you've lost your baby" really don't he...
