2024 - Removing the stabilisers.

Over the last four years, God has called the Church to take stock and truthfully look at where she is and what she has become, as a body and individually. It has been an opportunity to repent and realign with God's Holiness and purity. There has been special favour for healing old trauma and handing over self-protective habits in exchange for God's goodness and joy. When learning to ride a bike while the stabilisers are left on, it's impossible to know how good your balance is. I see the Lord removing the stabilisers off His people in 2024. The practice season is over. It's time to step into maturity, where faith no longer relies on external structures but instead uses the strong core muscles of faith, built internally with the teaching of the Holy Spirit. There will be those pleasantly surprised at the strength built in their core with the Lord in the past season. They will thrive in the freedom, speed and agility that comes when stabilisers are removed. Some won'...

The Peacock Church

I released a word at the beginning of the year ( https://inhisbreeze.blogspot.com/2022/12/crowning-and-dethroning.html ) about  the Lord wanting the Church to look like a peacock in the coming season 🦚 I know, how ridiculous, a peacock! It's been on my mind again the last month, so I want to look at it in more detail. If you were to describe Jesus to someone, perhaps the words you'd use would be about his love, kindness, sacrifice, and willingness to serve and care for the lost and marginalised. All of which are true, but He is also King of kings, Lord of lords. He has a mighty army of angels at His disposal. He is just and righteous. He has ALL authority and power. So perhaps the Church being like a majestic-looking peacock isn't so crazy? Have you ever noticed that peacocks look like they're wearing a crown? I asked the Lord what the Church looks like now, and He showed me a flock of chickens, each scratching in the dirt, looking for seeds. Each goes about their...

Freedom

Imagine having all of the Bible stories happening all at the same time, in your local area, like a "Greatest hits" event. Faith of Abraham, miracles of Moses, worship of David, dream interpretation of Daniel, obedience of Ezekiel, prophesy of Isaiah, wisdom of Solomon, Paul standing firm in persecution and the revelation of John. You'd need to add a good measure of love to keep everything on track, but what a sight that would be. Jesus embodied all these things and said that WHOEVER believed in Him would do the works He did and even greater things. How? Because He was sending the Helper. Each of the great heroes of faith had one thing in common. The Holy Spirit. None of their great deeds were done apart from Him. The Holy Spirit is the one who turns hearts towards Jesus, who teaches the truths in the word. He convicts, encourages, comforts and empowers. He grows love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in those who say yes....

Knowledge v Peace

Lately, I've been pondering Adam and Eve eating the fruit they weren't supposed to. Literal or not, what does it demonstrate of God and humanity?  The first temptation was to know stuff without asking God.  Ouch! The first temptation was to know stuff without asking God. From the beginning, God intended for us to walk and talk with Them (Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit), but that wasn't enough for Adam and Eve. They chose an "upgrade', to know what was good and evil for themselves. Independence. There are ideas that Christianity is about keeping a whole lot of rules. Sadly, these ideas originated from the demonstration within the Church, but that isn't really it. Following Jesus is a "reset to factory settings", back to a walking, talking, asking, learning, ongoing conversation and relationship with the Creator of the universe - Father God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Adoption into this family means death to independence. Laying down independen...

Healing the Bride -2

The Spirit of the Lord says, "Dear rejected ones, you who have been in a time of isolation, on the outskirts. You who have been held at arm's length like spiritual lepers who are "invisible" and "awkward" or "too much" and "weird", being sustained by pity offerings and scraps of relationships, I am making way for your triumphant return.   But first, dear ones, I have something to ask of you. It will seem unfair and unjust, but it is better this way - trust me. There cannot be a triumphant return without first being victorious, which will require emotional healing from the effect of the last season. As I healed lepers by a touch, which they had been longing for, or on their courageous walk to the temple, you too will be healed. The reconciliation talks that you have long imagined and prepared for lay down now. Your healing will not come this way at this time, Nor will it come from hearing the repentance of those who caused your pain, tho...

Choose your glass.

Drinking a lot of wine can be a funny thing, because you never how it's going to effect you. I love it when I just sing (badly) at the top of my voice, and dance as if no one is watching. It's like my whole body comes alive and music turns into liquid oil running through my veins, not a bit of me able to keep still or silent. A state of ecstasy, full of joy, completely free. Other times I'm a complete wreck; crying my heart out, tears and snot running down my face - its not pretty!  Or I've felt invincible, as if the impossible no longer exists. All insecurities or fear of failure,  evaporate.  I've been so intoxicated that I can't stand and all I can do is lie on a heap on the floor until the weightiness lifts. And there's the talking none stop in words no one else seems to understand.  This could be my memories of over doing alcohol, in my teens and twenties, but it's actually a description of being filled with the Holy Spirit.  Having tried both, ther...

Traffic lights

I discovered last year that I'm neuro-diverse! There are great things about seeing the world in  a different way. My mind is both linear and abstract all at the same time. I'm creative and a bit random, but not random at all! I can look in the boot of a car and see in an instant if and how luggage is going to fit. My mind works full speed pretty much constantly which means I fit in huge amounts of thoughts in, in a small amount of time.   But then there are the negatives. One thing that has been a struggle for me, is to get from seeing a task that needs doing, to completing it. This has left me, many time, feeling like a bit of a failure!   Then a couple of weeks ago,  an amazing friend prayed, like the Bible says, for a renewal of my mind. And the Holy Spirit answered.   He explained to me that my mind had something like traffic lights going off. Getting laundry from dirty state, all the way to being in cupboards has had around 6 sets of t...
